Middies Soccer Held to a Scoreless Draw at Newburyport
October 27, 2001
NEWBURYPORT, MA. -
As the clock reached the end of regulation on Saturday, Dracut Girl's soccer coach Wayne Currie figured it was a case of the irresistible force meeting the immovable object. His team was held scoreless again through another 80 minutes of action against Newburyport.
Neither team could muster any offensive threat in the first half. Newburyport came the closest to scoring from a corner kick which Kacie McGlasson cleared from the post with second remaining in the game.
Freshman Keeper Jennifer Cole (6 saves) recorded the shutout.
Playing well for the Middies were Kelly Nicolls, Tina Boyd, Susan Kelly, Kacie McGlasson, and Amanda Stafford.
The Middies will await to see whom they will play in the State Tournament.
